This interactive workshop gives founders a chance to look at capital raising from the perspective of investors. Each participant will be given an investor profile and a budget, and will be taken through the process of funding one of several startups from the pitch to closing a round. By putting founders in the shoes of investors, they will be able to look beyond the pitch, to other important parts of capital raising, such as marketing to investors, who can invest in which offerings, deal terms, due diligence, legal documentation, compliance, and closing. Founders will gain insight into how to conduct a round of funding professionally, effectively, and efficiently.
Speakers include
Virginia Balcom from SFU VentureLabs®,
Mike Winterfield from Active Impact Investments,
Yvan Guy Larocque from Miller Titerle + Company, and
James Atherton from Capiche.
Due to the nature of this interactive workshop, attendance will be limited to 25 founders. Attendees will need to bring a laptop or a smartphone with a web browser to participate.
