David Clough

A current faculty member of the Sauder School of Business at the
University of British Columbia, Professor Clough is deeply passionate about social science research, and about communicating the fruits of that research through teaching. His published research includes papers on entrepreneurs and the mobilization of diverse resources, and entrepreneurial team formation – how does a founder go about finding and selecting co-founders? Professor Clough has won awards for academic excellence as well presented his research globally. Since 2016, he has been one of the organizers of a popular Academy of Management workshop on
Lean Startup as an innovation strategy (2016, 2017 & 2018).
In 2012, David joined INSEAD’s PhD program in the Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise. In the fall of 2013 he spent a semester as a visiting PhD scholar at the Wharton school sponsored by the
INSEAD-Wharton Alliance, and in January 2015 transferred to INSEAD’s Singapore campus, fulfilling the INSEAD promise of undertaking his PhD across three continents. In his (scarce) free time, he enjoys travel, long-distance running, reading sci-fi novels, and
writing about various topics in technology, strategy, finance and economics.
