Judy Bishop is a versatile industry veteran recognized as a senior executive, advisor, speaker and innovator in BC’s technology industry and business community. 

For over 25 years, Judy has delivered advice and mentorship as a senior executive, financier, corporate director and management consultant with technology- enabled business - formerly in Vancouver, now based in Kelowna. She was recently Executive-in-Residence at Accelerate Okanagan, providing proven methodologies to commercialize early-stage tech companies. Then at BC Innovation Council she taught it’s 3-day Market Validation Program and formed BC Innovex, an initiative aimed at pairing senior BC talent and innovation. 

Judy has co-founded 3 BC tech companies, been instrumental in starting 2 industry associations (BC Technology Industries Association (BC TIA, now BC Tech), championed Vancouver’s city-wide broadband wireless project, and marks 20 years mentoring at the annual NewVentures BC business competition. She’s had deep involvement in BC’s wine industry, and spent 3 years as CMO for a global leader in direct-to-consumer ecommerce technology for the wine & spirits industry. She has long experience vetting venture capital financings, and is a veteran board member on a range of corporate and not-for-profit boards, including: 2010 Winter Olympics Bid Corporation, Vancouver Aquarium, Kelowna Apple Triathlon, BC Wine Authority, and Institute for Corporate Directors - Kelowna branch. 

Judy is a judge for two annual competitions: the Jack Webster Awards for outstanding journalism, and the French Chamber of Commerce ‘Palme Bleue” awards for francophone business in BC. 

Judy studied biochemistry at UBC, is fluent in French, possesses solid knowledge of Western European cultural and business practices, and is broadcast/media literate. She wrote the ‘strategic marketing’ column for Business in Vancouver newspaper for 15 years, and has won two top business awards. She is a trained oenophile, and was inducted into the Confrérie des Chevaliers de Bourgogne in 2000. Judy enjoys skiing, cycling, international travel, gardening and food-and- wine pairing, and shoots stock travel photography for worldwide licensing by Getty Images. She does sleep occasionally.
